This 1 oz Walking Liberty Copper Round commemorates the artwork featured on Adolph Weinmans half-dollar coin design. Weinmans Walking Liberty design would grace the front of the half-dollar from 1916 to 1947. It went on to become the most well-known of his designs.
On t
he front of this round is the eponymous Walking Liberty, who is crossing the great plains of America to greet the rising sun. She is attired in a toga bearing the stars and stripes of our flag. In one arm, she clasps a bundle of laurel and oak branches, while she extends the other in a gesture of invitation. The intention of Weinmans design was to reflect both the peace and abundance that this country represents to so many who immigrate here. Also inscribed on this round are the words, Liberty, and the phrase, In God We Trust. The only exception to Weinmans original front design is the omission of the coins mintage date, which used to appear underneath Lady Liberty.
The reverse side of the coin also departs from Weinmans design. In lieu of his perched eagle is a stylized rendition of the heraldic eagle. This rendition features a winged shield with the word USA printed beneath it. Above the winged shield appears our nations flag. To further enhance its patriotic motif, a series of 6 stars appears on the reverse sides border along with the purity and weight of the round.
This Walking Liberty Copper Round offers a stunning tribute to one of Weinmans most memorable coin designs.
Please note that although this copper round was modeled after an existing coin, it is not legal tender and cannot be used as real currency.
The true value of these coins keep going up and up because of the rarity. The Walking Liberty Memorial Copper Coin is a must for every collector. The manufacturing process take thousands upon thousands of dollars, time, energy and talent to make the first coin. A limited number of these are made simply because each strike wears down the die and when they are gone, they are gone. Don't miss an opportunity to own a true piece of history as well as a work of art.
* What is the difference between a Coin and a Round ? *
Rounds are more widely available than coins and carry a very low premium over spot price, making them a great way to start investing. ... Unlike coins, rounds don't have the year on them as they don't differ from year-to-year.
Coins
are minted by a sovereign government, are legal tender, and have a minimum face value in addition to a melt value.
Rounds
are minted by private mints, have no face value, and generally have melt value.
What is copper ?
Copper is a mineral and an element essential to our everyday lives. It is a major industrial metal because of its high ductility, malleability, thermal and electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion.
Copper is mined mostly in open pit mines, such as those found in Utah, New Mexico, and Chile. Chile produces the largest percentage of the world's copper with nearly 33% of the world's export. Copper is also found in the U.S., Indonesia, and Peru. Although
copper is
highly recyclable, it is a non-
renewable natural resource
, meaning that it is finite.
Copper is an ancient metal has been revered among some of the world’s first civilizations and, today, is increasingly popular among physical metal investors. According to scholars, copper was discovered around the year 9000 BC in the Middle East. Of course, without copper there would have been no Bronze Age as bronze is an alloy of copper.
Copper Prices -
In terms of contemporary value, copper has enjoyed some considerable upswings in price that have garnered the attention of many people. The base metal started off the 21st century trading at under /lb while over the next 10 years it would continue to rise. Demand for copper has likely been one of the main causes.
Since the metal is used in most parts of our infrastructure, as well as the medical field and many areas of industry, as we further develop our technologies demand may be rising over coming years.

We collected our first coin in year 1994, with a Morgan dollar, and thus began our appreciation of rounds, coins and associated fine items. We are beginning to offer these great items to our clients at this time to share this passion with others.
We believe in giving good value for the pricing, we try to describe fully (and point out) all conditions of use of all items. The boxing of items is done with reused boxing and sometimes making custom boxing for specialized items and shapes. Having said that, you may unexpectedly receive a box marked "canned peas" and be surprised to find your vintage music box carefully packaged inside. By reusing boxing, we are able to afford generous use of bubble wrap to ensure that shipping problems are minimized, and your item is delivered in good shape. We will ensure that your new acquisition will be carefully packaged. Thank you for your viewing of this item and your consideration, we really appreciate you !
