Kreeger's New Orleans Fur Storage Wooden Vintage Clothes Coat Hanger - Very Nice

Description

Kreeger's wood hanger.  Marked "Kreegers"   "Fur Storage"   "New Orleans"   Marked on front side only.
The 5 1/4" long metal hook is secure in place at the hub.
Measures approximately 17" in length and 3/4" thick at the bottom.
Can be used for your coats or dresses or display.
Kreeger's operated for 121 years from 1865 to 1986.  Located at 801 - 805 Canal St.
It was still under family management when it closed.
Due to hard times with a soft market and changing fur market, the department store fell into bankruptcy.
Kreeger's was a well regarded furrier, often allowing valued customers to store their furs in the department store vaults.   When they closed their doors approximately 4000  customers were notified to please retrieve their coats and stoles.
