  • Condition: Great vintage condition with possibly one wooden "petal" missing on one of the blue beaded flowers. The beads move around, so I am not sure that it is missing, but wanted to point out.

    Description

    This auction is for a pair of gorgeous vintage, WWII era pierced plastic dress clips or brooches, made by Miriam Haskell.  The metal back plates disappeared due to the shortage of metal during the war, and by 1941 most pins and clips were wired or sewn on a pierced plastic backplate.  The clips or broochs are made with tiny wooden beads, topped with coral, turquoise blue and lavender colored seed beads.  Each tiny strand of beads is wired to the back of the clips, One flower with blue beads looks like it may be missing a strand at the base, but am not sure because the beads can be moved around.  Each clip is decorated with glass molded leaves.  Rare and gorgeous pair of Haskell dress clips or brooches.  Each clip is a little over 2" from top to bottom and 2 1/2" across.  Fabulous clips with similar design listed in the Haskell Jewelry book.
